It's such a wonderful time of year to spend time with friends and family and to remember our Savior's birth. We are so blessed!

1st Christmas
This year was Brockston's first Christmas as well as our first Christmas in our new house. We moved the weekend after Christmas last year. We had a lot of fun. We were all spoiled immensely. It was fun to watch Brockston open his presents. He liked ripping the paper, but was easily distracted. He just wanted to play with his new toy. He didn't understand that there were more toys still to be opened. His grandmas and grandpas and aunts and uncles spoiled him. I noticed that we didn't buy him any noisy toys. Not a single one. But he got quite a few. Luckily they have on/off switches that Brockston hasn't figured out yet. (Yet being the key word in that sentance!)

Tractor, I don't need no stinkin' tractor!
We live down a lane off of the main road. It's about 120 feet to the road. My dad lent us his tractor so that we could plow with it. The only problem is I don't know how to start it (it's a diesel). So I usually just shovel our little cement driveway and leave the rest for Nate. Well I started shoveling and just couldn't find a good place to stop so I just kept going.

The Hot Dog Dance
Brockston loves the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It's the only show that will hold his attention. He is constantly on the move, but if the show is on he will actually hold still and watch it for a while. He especially loves the end of the show when they do the "Hot Dog Dance."

Happy Halloween
I hope you all had a Happy Halloween! For Brockston's first Halloween he was the cutest little monster in town. We had fun at our ward Trunk or Treat. We were the only ones that decorated our trunks! How silly is that? Isn't that the point? Well, we had fun anyway and some of the kids enjoyed making a basket in our hoop. The Jazz theme was an extension of Nate's crazy Jazz Man costume. Anything to wear a wig! :)

Moab
Nate took the week off so we thought it would be fun to spend a couple of days in Moab. We had fun hiking in Arches National Park and enjoying the crazy weather. It was nice and warm one day with a bit of wind and cold and rainy the next. Brockston was a trooper and did awesome on all of the hikes we did. He enjoys the carrier but he has to be facing forward so that he can see what is going on. It was fun to see everybody's reaction to him as we hiked past. He was the star of the trail and made everyone smile. We're glad other people think he's pretty cute because we sure do!
Group Shot...
Who knew we'd find a water fall in the middle of the desert?
When we reached Delicate Arch it was windy. I'm sure it's always windy up there but it was REALLY windy. It honestly felt like you were going to get blown away. Brockston did NOT like the wind and wanted to get down. Here's a little video clip Nate took while we were up there. You can't hear Brockston cry because the wind was so loud.

Busy, Busy Bees
OK so I know it's no excuse, but we've been super busy and when I'm not busy Brockston is busy getting into stuff so I've neglected my blog. But hopefully this new post will make up for it.
So what have we been up to? Well the whole summer we've been working towards putting our yard in. We still have a ways to go, but we went from this...

Bridal Bouquets
My sister is having her Bridal pictures taken today and I put together a couple of bouquets for her to use. When we went to get the flowers we picked out the tulips and the lady at the floral wholesaler threw in the calla lilies as well (because some of the tulips were starting to go bad and we didn't really want to pay for 3 bunches of callas for the bridals). So I put together two bouquets for her to choose from or she can use both!
I took a floral design class when I was at BYU and I wish I could go back and take it again. It's been a while and I'm forgetting a lot of stuff. I'm not the greatest at it but it has saved lots of money over the years for family weddings. I did my own flowers for my wedding but not my bouquet. I'm still a little weary of doing bouquets... I did a little hand tied bouquet for my Bridals though and it turned out alright, mostly because of how pretty the flowers are.

This is my bouquet done by the professionals. It is done so well that it will stand up on its own.

Aprons
I broke out the old sewing machine to put together a couple of fun little aprons. They were super easy (thanks to my mom's serger and my mom who sewed the hems...) and fun to do. I have since put together another one (which I did on my own, thank you very much... I did learn from observing!) and plan on doing some more. Thanks Lisea for letting me borrow your patterns!
