Bath Time!

Brockston's not so sure about his first bath. I think that he'll end up liking them in time. It was cut short though because yep, you guessed it he peed in the water! :)

Little Boys

I have to hurry and get this post up before our Internet goes out - We've had it for less than a month, have gone through 2 modems and had 6 technicians come out to the house. The guy today "thinks" he found the problem. We'll see!

So Nate has been super helpful with our new little guy. He helps with bathing, calming him down, and much to his dismay - changing diapers. He has learned the hard way the hazards of changing a little boy's diapers. On the first day home I looked back at Nate changing a diaper just in time to see him and the bed get pee all over them.

(Yes that is pee at both ends of the bed)
Needless to say Nate is very impressed with Brockston's distance. I've seen the little "pee-pee tee-pee" thing and kind of thought it was silly but it may be a wise investment after all!

Introducing Brockston Nathan Morley

He's finally here!! Brockston Nathan Morley was born on Jan 15 at 12:03 am. He weighed 8 lbs 13 oz and was 20 inches long. He's pretty much the cutest little guy ever - well we think so. Everything went well with his delivery and he is healthy. We really couldn't have asked for more.

I had a doctor's appointment on Wednesday morning. My blood pressure was a little bit high - which is something we've been watching closely through out my entire pregnancy. The doctor also looked at my paper work and realized the nurse had figured my due date wrong on my first visit and that it should have been the 7th and not the 10th. So he was already a week overdue! She decided that if we waited until the 20th like we had scheduled there would be more risks with preclampsia (plus I can't even imagine how big he would have been!) so she asked if we wanted to have the baby today or tomorrow. We said ok - so we headed up to the hospital. They officially started me at 12:30 pm and he came at 12:03 am. He just had to wait a few minutes so he could share his birthday with his aunt Maegan.

We are back at home and things are going well. I'm amazed at my body trying to heal itself and getting practically no sleep and yet I find I have plenty of energy to take care of my baby. This whole process has been what Nate calls a "creepy miracle". Indeed it is a miracle. We are so happy to have this sweet little spirit in our family. It'll be an adjustment and we are all learning. I hope that we can give Brockston a good home.

Suggestions?

So does anyone have any suggestions on how to get an over due baby to come? My due date was the 10th and still no baby. I know I'm only a couple of days over. I really shouldn't complain. In reality I'd much rather him be over due than premature - but now that the due date has come and gone I think I'm ready to have this baby! My doctor has scheduled an induction date of the 20th (which I really am ok with- I'd rather him come on his own) but that's still a week away! Suggestions?

Still alive and Still Pregnant

I just wanted to write a quick post to let you all know that we are still alive. The holidays this year were busy but nice. It is a busy time for Nate's work and the week leading up to Christmas I was basically a widow. :) He worked about 70 hours the week before Christmas and just about got his 40 hours in on the 3 days of Christmas week. It's good though - job security. I guess people just can't get enough BBQ around the holidays and we're ok with that!

Yes I am still pregnant, which is kind of a miracle in all that we have done in the past two weeks; I'm surprised I didn't go into labor! We have moved. It's official. We packed up the A.P.T. and we are all done. Thanks to all of our friends and family who helped us in the move. We tried to be good people who ask for help in moving in that we tried to have everything boxed up so all we had to have help with was actually moving boxes and furniture. Our biggest pet peeve is going to help people move and they haven't even taken things off the walls! We still had a few things that I was throwing in boxes and things were flying out of the apartment. We had everything loaded and ready to go within about 45 minutes. Unpacking didn't go as quickly - but thanks to my mother-in-law and sister-in-laws for putting away my kitchen and my mom and aunt Cindy for putting away our bedroom and bathroom stuff so we could feel somewhat comfortable in our new house. We still have a lot to do as far as getting things the way we want but we just keep the spare room door closed and try not to think about it. Now Baby Morley can come anytime. His due date is Saturday the 10th, so we'll see. I'm still working because I want as much time as I can after he comes before I go back to work. Yep that's the plan, I'm going back (probably part time but we'll see).

We are getting settled and getting antsy for this little guy to come. We will definitely keep you posted. We'll have more pics of our house once it's more organized and once I'm not embarrassed to show it off! And definitely pics of the baby. I'm not feeling the belly pics so I don't think you get to see those. Believe me I don't think you want to - Just imagine my face on a hippo or elephant and well, you get the idea!
