The Big Move

Well, I did it. I moved Brockston into his room last night. He was just getting too big for the little cradle we have for him to sleep in. It's only across the hall, but I had both doors wide open and had the baby monitor on. It started out well, then at 2:30am he decided to stir because he had a burp. He fell back asleep but woke up 2 hours later. I was able to give him his binki but he kept stirring. I knew that the minute I left he would stir again so I ended up crashing on the floor. I wish he could sleep through the gas and put the binki in his mouth on his own! He wants to suck his fingers but the darn things just won't hold still! After several times of getting up I went and got a blanket and pillow for me to sleep on. It definitely wasn't our worst night, but not our best. Most importantly we've got him moved - now we have to work on getting me moved back into my room!

Blessing Day!

On Sunday Brockston was blessed. It was an awesome day. Nate did such a great job and it was fun to have our family and friends there to celebrate with us. We thought it would be a good time to get our first family photo in as well. We didn't get one at the hospital mostly because I didn't want a camera anywhere near me! Brockston has been such a blessing in our lives and he is such a sweet baby. He smiles all the time and has turned out to be quite the chatter box! He is sleeping so well through the night. He usually gets between 8 and 9 hours of sleep. I'm totally loving this mother thing now that I get more sleep!

Such a cute happy boy!

Brockston is getting so alert and he loves to smile and "talk/sing" to us. I don't think any if these pictures show it very well but he has the cutest little dimple on his right cheek. The pictures do show he has a twinkle in his eye when he's happy. I can't believe how quickly he is growing. Time flies! We've had 3 awesome nights in a row where he's slept for 6 hours or so! We'll take it. I just hope that he keeps it up!

Quick Update

Sorry no posts in a while. Our lives pretty much consist of eating, sleeping, and changing diapers. Not much excitement. Brockston is getting bigger and changing every day. He is definitely more alert and gives good smiles for us. I haven't mastered the art of getting him to smile and hold still long enough to get a good picture - Nate and I need to double team him and we'll hopefully get a good picture soon. He is getting on more of a schedule and sleeping better at night. He still only goes about 3-4 hours between feedings so we're not sleeping the whole night, but improvement is being made!

I had my surgery this week to remove the ginormous ovarian cyst that they found. (See earlier post for explanation.) Everything went well and luckily they only had to remove the cyst and they were able to do it lapriscopic which meant I didn't have to stay overnight in the hospital. Unofficially I think that I lost about 10 lbs, but that's just on the bathroom scale that's not super accurate. I am down to my prepregnacy weight but that does not mean that I am back in shape by any means. I still have a ways to go! It is encouraging though. Thanks to my mom for taking care of Brockston for us. It was not easy being apart two nights, but it was good to get some sleep and let my body recover. Also thank heaven for pajama pants and maternity jeans because normal pants rub right on my incisions. I still have a little pain and it KILLS when I sneeze, but all in all we are doing well.

I promise I'll post more pictures soon, but the babe is getting hungry so I'd better run!

Such a cute sad face!

This is Brockson's sad face. Too cute!

His little eyebrows reimind me of a Thwomp from Mario Kart - you know the guys that try to smash you as you go by....

Gotta stop to take a breath...

"Ok Mom, put down the camera and feed me already!"

This one is more sad than cute - I promise I don't neglect him!
